2nd Things 1st

2nd Things 1st is a dynamic string ensemble brought together by shared friendship. Their commitment and care is palpable in their moving performances. 2T1 features fiddle players Rebekah Geller, Aidan Krieger, River Sawchyn, and bassist Max Winningham. Blending boundary-pushing original compositions with inventive arrangements of roots and fiddle traditions, the group brings a fresh, expressive voice to vernacular string music. 

All four members are classically trained musicians who draw on diverse backgrounds in improvisation, through-composition, chamber performance, and contradance traditions. This fusion of disciplines allows them to move fluidly between structured and spontaneous musical languages, creating performances that are both tightly cohesive and joyfully in the moment.
